Civil Defence Catches 5m Python in Taiping House

Taiping Civil Defence Captures Snake

TAIPING: A 5-meter-long python caused quite a stir when it fell from the ceiling into a home, only to be caught by members of the Civil Defence Force (APM).

The local Taiping council shared on Facebook that a team of seven was dispatched to the home located in Kg Dew, Kamunting, on Jalan Ayer Puteh, at approximately 8 p.m. on Monday, November 25.

A Scary Moment for Homeowners

A video uploaded to Facebook showed the large snake dangling from a ceiling hole, slithering precariously over the sofa. The Facebook post went viral, gaining 2,300 shares and over 500 comments, many of which detailed similar snake encounters from others.

Taiping’s APM also shared their account of the event.
“I’ve already dealt with pythons entering my house on three occasions,” said Noreen Faizah.
“We’ve captured four snakes with the help of neighbors and the Civil Defence and safely released them in the Pasir Panjang forest reserve in Port Dickson,” Kay Layla JN explained.
“It felt like something straight out of the Anaconda movie,” recalled Wanie Gaban.
